K12 Semi Flex Waterproof Slurry

PRODUCT SUMMARY:

K12 Semi Flex  Waterproof Slurry sold in Sri Lanka by Onyx Engineering is a two-component, cement-based mortar designed for waterproofing and protecting surfaces. It is made from cementitious binders, fine aggregates, special additives, and synthetic polymers. When mixed, it forms a plastic consistency that can be applied by brush, roller, or spraying at a thickness of about 2 mm on both horizontal and vertical surfaces.

The product is highly flexible and remains so under all environmental conditions. It offers waterproofing up to 1.5 bar pressure and is resistant to aggressive substances such as carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, sulphuric anhydride, and soluble salts like chlorides and sulphates found in seawater or soil.

Gomix K12 bonds effectively to cementitious, ceramic, and marble surfaces as long as they are solid and clean. It is particularly durable in coastal or industrial areas with high salt content or air pollution, providing long-lasting protection even in harsh climates.

USES

• K12 is applied to interior and exterior waterproofing and damp-proofing of concrete, cementitious rendering, brickwork and blockwork.
• K12 Flex Waterproofing Slurry can be used in a variety of installations, some examples being Suspended floors, RC gutters, Terraces and balconies, Patios, Precast, Floor slabs, Basements and fountain, Bathrooms and kitchens, Swimming pools and fountains and etc.
• 12 also could be use for exterior balconies and other concrete and masonry surfaces to prevent liquid water from penetrating from the topside through the tile application to the area.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS:

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• K12 shouldn't be stored at temperature below 4°C.
• Do not add cement, or sand to K12 two component mixture.
  
• Suitable application temperatures is 5°C ~ 40°C.
  
• K12 Waterproofing membrane should not be exposed to water or rainwater for 24 hours after application.
• Wait for minimum 7 days to fill water tanks or potable water tanks after application of K12 Waterproofing membrane, when it is tiled.
• Air bubbles which are formed during mixing process weaken water proofing. Therefore mixture should be prepared using a low cycled mixer.
• K12 is not used as a waterproofing material on gypsum boards.
