Cutback bitumen Sold in Sri Lanka by G.K.U.C International (PVT) Ltd is a range of versatile binders produced by blending penetration-grade bitumen with hydrocarbon solvents,such as paraffin or mineral turpentine. These binders are designed to provide enhanced workability and improved cold-weather performance compared to traditional hot-applied bitumens. These products are suitable for use in the asphalting and maintenance of roads, highways and expressways under the purview of the Road Development Authority (RDA) of Sri Lanka.

Application

Cutback bitumen is used extensively in sprayed sealing applications, particularly in cooler weather where it provides improved initial stone retention due to their lower viscosity. Typically, a single application of the appropriate cutback bitumen is sprayed onto the primed pavement onto which aggregate is laid.
